Laurus Technical Institute, originally founded in 1986, became accredited in 1991 by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). Operating as ETI Careers Institute, the school began offering travel and tourism programs in 1986. In 2007, the school changed its name to Laurus Technical Institute. Laurus Technical Institute now offers programs in the allied health and allied trade programs.

Medical Assistant (Diploma Program)
The medical assistant program provides students with the skills and knowledge required to obtain an entry level Medical Assistant position. Topics covered include medical terminology, basic diagnostic skills (measuring vital signs, phlebotomy and injections, and EKG), CPR, interviewing skills, customer service, microsoft office. The training program includes classroom lecture, hands on demonstration, medical software training, and labs. Students will be prepared to take a national certification test upon completion of the program. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the Medical Laboratory Assistant, EKG Technician, Phlebotomy Technician or Clinical Medical Assistant examinations.
Medical Billing & Coding (Diploma Program)
The medical billing and coding program provides students with the knowledge and skills required to obtain an entry level medical Billing and/or Coding position. Topics covered include hospital procedural and diagnostic coding, billing insurance companies, medical terminology, data entry, electronic claims filing, comprehensive hospital coding, secondary billing techniques, and computer software packages such as Microsoft Word & Excel, and Medisoft. The training program includes classroom lecture, hands on demonstration, medical software training, and labs. Students will be prepared to take a national certification test upon completion of the program. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Billing and Coding Specialist examination.

The medical office administrator program provides students with the skills and knowledge required to an entry level Medical Office Administrator position.
